Our return visit to Lucky Dreamer Lodge was even better than our first visit. Jeff and Cheryl are the consummate hosts, guiding us to the best adventures in the area and sharing their knowledge of the local culture. Their location on the Macal River provides easy water access and opportunities to enjoy the area’s wildlife. We are happy to recommend this location as an excellent access point to the San Ignacio area and the Pine Ridge Reserve area.
We stayed at the Lucky Dreamer for a few nights while exploring San Ignacio. Cheryl and Jeff, the owners, were incredibly thoughtful and gave great attention to details that made our stay memorable. For example, upon arrival we all sat down to chat and had homemade tea. The bungalows are spacious, clean, and well equipped with comfortable seating, hammocks, new AC units, ample linen, and lots of windows. We loved going to Carms restaurant down the road for authentic Belizean food. It was also great to have a large outdoor kitchen to prepare some meals for ourselves and make coffee every morning. We can't recommend the Lucky Dreamer enough and would gladly stay here again! Thanks so much!
We loved staying here and highly recommend. We had a rental car, so it was PERFECT to be able to zip quickly to San Ignacio for dinner or shopping, but being able to retreat to the extremely friendly village of Cristo Rey was incredible. We swam in the river and saw some great wildlife (the toucan was our highlight). Our ATM tour was also able to pick us up right at the property. The bungalow was very comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. We picked the one with AC, which was necessary for us during our trip in early May! Cheryl and Jeff are extremely friendly, helpful, and hospitable hosts!
Wonderful trip to Cayo District. Lucky Dreamer Lodge has wonderful hosts who are on the property so if you have any issues or questions they are always available. They are very helpful and even guided us to spots we hadn't planned on visiting that made our trip even more magical. They're cabins are perfect for families and are very convenient to everything in the area!

The room was perfect for us. We could watch agouti play down by the river from the deck when drinking coffee in the mornings. The kitchen area has everything you need if you want to cook. And you want to if you take the cooking class offered by Maria who was lovely. I will never buy another tortilla. Milo would come check on us as well which was thoughtful. Only a few hours to the Mayan ruins of Caracol or anything else in the western part of Belize. We really enjoyed our stay.
A small little jungle get away away from everything, there are several nearby activities and restaurants. Handful of easy but important rules that they tell you at orientation. Overall it's been a great experience, and I'm not just saying that because my dad runs the place.
I researched many places online and always came back to Lucky Dreamer as my choice. I just spent 3 days there and found that it was everything that I was looking for: great hosts that put you at ease and make you feel right at home (Cheryl and Jeff), very very nice bungalows in a peaceful, beautiful setting! I was searching for a tranquil "get-away" where I could unwind, refresh, enjoy a porch hammock and simply Relax and I found it at Lucky Dreamer. I will definitely recommend it to others and will be back!

The Belize Lodge is very comfortable, clean and well appointed, the beds are very comfortable. The outdoor kitchen was very convenient for preparing our breakfasts. The area is full of things to do and discover and Cheryl and Jeff are great tips! We highly recommend!
After spending some time in Belize and staying at half a dozen places around the country... Jeff & Cheryl's place turned out to be our absolute favorite! What a perfect, memorable place to call home base, with terrific hosts who knew everything about the region, from the activities & excursions.. to the flora & fauna. The location is perfect for discovering the west of Belize and Guatemala if you like. There is lots to do close and even more within a few minutes to hour drive. You could spend a week here easy and be amazed every day. We stayed in the Belize Bungalow and it was perfect! The outdoor kitchen and sitting area is nice and has plenty of shade when needed. Hosts have gone out of their way to make the property inviting and a haven for birds of all kinds and other wildlife. Cheryl and Jeff were amazing hosts with lots of information and willing to spend time helping us with our interests.
Wonderful start to our Belize vacation!We started our Belize holiday with 4 nights in the 2-person Banana Bungalow - what a fun way to experience Belizean life!! The unit(s) are located just outside of the small village of Cristo Rey, and are a perfect location for trips to San Ignacio, the ATM cave, and the nearby ruins of Caracol. The Banana Bungalow overlooks the property down to the river, and during our time there we saw amongst other things; an Armadillo, agoutis, iguanas, and toucans. Jeff and Cheryl were wonderful to deal with, and full of good advice on things to do in the area. We would not hesitate to recommend a stay here - in particular in the Banana Bungalow!!!
We recently had the opportunity to stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge. We can’t say enough positive things about our stay.Although, we didn’t spend much time in the room it was lovely. It was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we could need. The bed was also very comfy.The highlight of the lodge is the surrounding area. Our balcony provided a beautiful spot overlooking the river, which provided a nice spot to have the morning coffee or evening drink and look for wildlife. Beyond our immediate cabana, the grounds attracted many birds: parrots, Keel-billed Toucan, Collared Aracaris, Chacalacas, Lesson’s Motmots, and many more.Finally, our hosts were great, Jeff and Cheryl. They provided us with lots of information about the area’s activities, stores, and restaurants. Also, when Jeff learned that I was looking for some wood pieces to take back, he generously gave me some of his and provided tools and materials to clean up and finish the wood. Many thanks for that special assistance.
We absolutely loved our stay and hope to come back sometime. The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. Hammocks on a beautiful screened porch, a kayak for exploring the river, gorgeous plants and flowers on the property, a well stocked kitchen, comfy bed, within walking distance to a quaint breakfast stop, and lots of local information and recommendations for a perfect stay. We absolutely loved this air bnb. It is such a wonderful bungalow in the jungle. We saw toucans and ate the fruit they grow right off the property. The hosts are wonderful and are very quick with communication.They gave us good recommendations on where to go during our visit. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!!
An absoutley amazing location and hosts who care about the community. For those who do not want to stay 'in' San Ignacio, a 10 minute drive on a paved road puts you in beautiful Cristo Rey and an excellent base for exploring the Cayo
My husband and I enjoyed our 6 night stay here. It was everything we expected and more! A perfect place for us to be while we explored various Mayan sites and the rainforest/jungle. Cristo Rey is a quiet town with a few restaurants (that have delicious food) and close enough to San Ignacio to get their easily for tours, restaurants or exploring. Getting to and from San Ignacio is easy with the shuttle or public buses.Lucky Dreamer Lodge place was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed hearing and sometimes seeing the local wildlife (birds, monkeys, etc). Cheryl and Jeff are fantastic hosts: very willing to answer questions and provide insight and tips. We loved using the kayak and going up the Macal River. Beautiful scenery to be explored right from the property. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely go back if we were to be in Belize again in the future.

Our stay at this bungalow was simply amazing. It's the absolutely perfect setup for a relaxing time. We enjoyed being immerse in nature, surrounded by green and animals. Howling monkeys, a variety of birds, lizards and even frogs. The river is right in front of the cabin's deck. The bungalow itself is perfectly designed for a couple, with great spaces and details in every corner. The shower and the bed are perfect, and the hammock on the deck was my personal favorite. The outdoors kitchen is complete with everything we needed for cooking and the hosts are simply the best of all. Cheryl and Jeff made our stay perfect, recommending us places to go and helping us with information we needed. We're definitely planning on returning and absolutely recommend this cabin, a place that makes you feel at home.
The casita at Lucky Dreamer Lodge is a delightful place to stay! The hosts, Cheryl & Jeff have anticipated every need you might have and are incredible helpful at recommending activities, eateries, you name it! Their charming pack of hounds are friendly too! Cristo Rey is a great base from which you can spend a week sightseeing and soaking up the flora and fauna. I highly recommend it!

My stay at lucky dreamer lodge was perfect. Cheryl and Jeff were great hosts with lots of local advice and recommendations. The place was peaceful and a nice place to come back to in the evening after being in town for the day. I especially enjoyed the hammock on the deck and listening to all the jungle night sounds; monkeys, cicadas, etc. 10 out of 10 would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed for three nights in the Banana Bungalo. We were greeted by Jeff and Cheryl and given a great overview of the property and the town of Cristo Rey. The view was incredible and waking to the sounds of howler monkeys across the river was amazing. Would definitely go back. Eat at Carms, you won’t regret it.

I can't speak highly enough about Cheryl and Jeff. We have told any friends and family thinking of visiting Belize that they must stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge. Cheryl and Jeff, from the start, made us feel at home- more like we were visiting friends or family. They live on the property grounds and would chat in passing. The recommendations they gave were outstanding. Every tour or restaurant we went to in the San Ignacio area or on our route to Placencia, we found out about from them. They are such gems of human beings and I wish we got to stay longer at their magical oasis of a retreat.

Die Liebe zum Detail sowie die Qualität der Möbel/Ausstattung ist hervorragend.Wer die Natur, vor allem Vögel aber auch andere Tiere beobachten möchte, ist hier mehr als richtig!Man kann kostenlos das Kajak nutzen, was wir jedem sehr ans Herz legen können. Die Outdoor Küche ist gut ausgestattet und die Unterkunft ist im allgemeinen gut erreichbar und sicher. Tut euch selbst den Gefallen und bleibt mindestens 2 Nächte, um alles richtig erkunden und genießen zu können!Abschließend möchten wir an dieser Stelle auch noch einmal Cheryl & Jeff hervorheben, die wundervolle Gastgeber waren!

Had an awesome stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge! A thoughtful shared kitchen had all the amenities you could possibly need. We loved taking the kayak out on the river and hearing the howler monkey’s. The restaurant they recommended down the street called Carm’s was awesome. We loved playing with the dogs and kitten they have, great place!
