Policies for Your Stay at Our Belize Jungle Bungalows
Check-in / Check-out / Quiet Hours
Check-in at our Belize Jungle Bungalows is from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. If you need an earlier check-in time, please let us know, and we’ll try our best to accommodate you. If you need a later check-in, please confirm before booking.
We also appreciate knowing your estimated arrival window, so we can plan ahead and open our main gate. Our friendly dog, Milo, and the village dogs roam freely (outside the property), so we manage gate openings accordingly. Additionally, we sometimes need to run errands, and we can schedule those around your arrival.
Check-out is by 11:00 am. If you need a later check-out time, please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate your request.
Quiet hours are 9:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Booking Policy
Our published rates are in U.S. dollars, per bungalow (not per person), per night and include tax (9%). No additional fees! We do not charge a housekeeping fee, and there are no automatic service fees. The price listed for your reservation dates is the price you pay.
To confirm a reservation, payment in full is required at the time of booking.
We accept Visa, MC, AmEx, and Discover Credit Cards. All reservations require pre-payment via Credit Card. Once paid, your rate is guaranteed for the duration of your reservation. We do not accept PayPal, Venmo, Bitcoin, etc.
Cancellation Policy
Our Cancellation Policy applies to any changes that reduce the number of nights booked, whether it’s for part of the reservation or the entire stay.
If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival:
- We will issue you a refund—less any bank/credit card processing fees and currency exchange charges (if applicable). These fees are approximately 3.5% as charged by the CC processing company Stripe.
Exception for Rebookings: If you have rebooked your original reservation for a future date, the original 30-day cancellation window remains in effect. This means that if you cancel your rebooked reservation and you are beyond the 30-day cancellation window of your original reservation, the “Cancellation Options within 30 Days” applies as outlined below.
Cancellation Options within 30 Days:
If you cancel less than 30 days before arrival (including cancellations of rebooked reservations):
- We encourage guests to rebook their stay at Belize Jungle Bungalows instead of canceling. This allows you to maintain your reservation and potentially reschedule for a more suitable time.
- Submit a claim to your travel insurance policy. We will provide the documentation needed. (We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance! We suggest using Aardy.com for multiple quotes.)
- Apply your reservation payment to a later date. Note that if rates change, your original reservation amount will be applied to the new rates (future rates could go up or down). Please note that for re-bookings, the 30-day cancellation window applies to the original reservation dates for any rebooked reservations.
- We will attempt to rent out your booked bungalow. If we are successful, you will receive a refund for the nights we are able to re-book, less the fees mentioned previously. You would not receive a refund for room nights that we were not able to re-book. If your room remains empty for all the nights of the original reservation, a refund will not be granted.
There is no time frame limitation for rebooking a reservation (as long as we have availability).
All cancellation requests must be received in writing.
Other Details to Note before Booking our Belize Jungle Bungalows
Please read these additional notes before booking to make everyone’s experience better.
Pet Policy
We’re big animal lovers ourselves, and our pets, Lucky the cat and Milo the dog, freely roam our property. However, due to occasional visits from neighborhood dogs, we kindly ask that you leave your pets at home. We appreciate your understanding in helping us keep everyone safe and happy.
Smoking & Open Flame Policy
Please note that this is a totally non-smoking/non-vaping property. Smoking areas are outside the front gate and by the riverside.
No open flames are permitted in the bungalows. This includes candles, matches, etc.
Suitability for Kids
Our riverfront property is not safe for unattended children of any age (especially up to 13 years old). Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. The property has a steep walk down to the river. There is a gate, but it is not childproof.
The property and bungalows are not suitable for infants to 5-year-olds. There is no childproofing, and we do not have any amenities geared toward children. The indoor surfaces are all hard surfaces; wood, tile & cement.
Children (under 18 years old) cannot be left alone onsite or in the bungalows for any amount of time.
Minimum Night Stay
There is no minimum night stay requirement for the Banana Bungalow. The Belize Bungalow has a two-night minimum stay.
Embracing Sustainability at Belize Jungle Bungalows
At Lucky Dreamer Lodge, we’re committed to preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings. To minimize our environmental impact and reduce electricity costs (which are high in Belize), we kindly ask our guests to practice energy conservation.
Here are a few simple steps you can take to help:
- Turn Off Lights and Fans: When you’re not in your bungalow, please remember to turn off all lights, ceiling fans, and floor fans.
- Use Fans Wisely: Fans are a great way to stay cool without relying heavily on air conditioning. However, remember that fans cool people, not rooms. When you’re not in the room, turn off the fans.
- Conserve Air Conditioning: Use air conditioning sparingly and only when you are inside the bungalow. Be sure to set the thermostat to a level that won’t freeze the coils (specifics provided upon check-in).
We understand that you may forget to turn off lights, fans or A/C, so we’ll do our part. If we notice anything left on after you left the bungalow, we’ll turn it off for you.
By following these simple steps, you can help us reduce our carbon footprint and preserve the natural beauty of Belize. Thank you for your cooperation!
Food Storage & Disposal
Please store and dispose of all food and food-related items in the outdoor kitchen area. Food and food-related trash in Belize jungle bungalows is the quickest way to attract bugs. We discourage food, drinks, wrappers, etc., inside the bungalows. This is a jungle, and the jungle bugs (mostly ants) LOVE food and have an amazing jungle communication network to share new sources of food with!
We separate garbage by type. We’ll share the details with you upon arrival.
Belize Jungle Bungalows Housekeeping
We thoroughly clean the bungalows before our guests’ arrivals. If you would like your bungalow serviced while you are here, that can be accommodated for a minimal charge. However, if you need additional towels, just let us know (no extra charge for those).
If your stay is more than a week, we will replace your sheets & towels. And other small housekeeping services will be provided free of charge; wastebasket emptying, sweeping, dusting, etc.
Additional Guests (not on the reservation)
We don’t mind a few extra people on the property if we know in advance (even if they just visit for a short time). Please ask any additional guests you invite to ring the gate doorbell or let us know as soon as they arrive so we can meet them.
We cannot legally accommodate more than the specified booked guests for your reservation, so please do not invite additional guests to stay overnight. We don’t mind small get-togethers, BBQs, etc. – but please, no loud or large parties.
Important Belize Jungle Bungalows Disclaimer
Cristo Rey Village is in the jungle region of Belize. While this provides incredible beauty and natural wonders, it also means that heat, humidity, critters, sudden tropical squalls, and power outages are not uncommon.
We strive for a calm, serene & relaxing environment, and most of the time it is just that. However, the tropical birds are very active as daylight breaks, and the Howler Monkeys can get loud some nights. We are also in a small but relatively active village (for a jungle). Sometimes the neighboring roosters, dogs, etc., can be heard. For those guests who are extremely noise sensitive, please keep these things in mind.
Living in the jungle also means an abundance of Geckos, Iguanas, ants, and ‘bugs’. None of which are dangerous. Surprisingly though, mosquitoes are usually not an issue.
That said, we do everything we can to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant.
Belize Holidays Disclaimer
Holidays are festive times in Belize, and the love for celebrations is deeply ingrained in Belizean culture. During holidays, it’s not uncommon for locals to enjoy lively gatherings with music and fireworks, contributing to a vibrant and joyous atmosphere. We understand that this exuberance may be disruptive to some guests’ stays.
Whether staying with us, or anywhere else in Belize, it will be louder than normal during all Belize Holidays. And the Holiday isn’t just a single day of celebration….. Belizeans start celebrating days before and usually at least one day after any given holiday. (For example, the official Easter holiday is 4.5 days long! Belizeans usually celebrate for at least 7 days & nights!)
