Lucky Dreamer Lodge – Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before using the www.luckydreamerbelize.com website (the “Service”) operated by Lucky Dreamer Lodge (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service, as well as your booking and stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge, is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users of the Service, and guests of the lodge.  

By accessing or using the Service, making a reservation, or staying at Lucky Dreamer Lodge, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, please stop using the Service and contact us regarding any existing reservations.

1. Managing Expectations to Ensure our Lodge is the Right Fit for your Belize Vacation

Our sustainable, eco-focused jungle setting may not be a fit for every travel style. We want your stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge to be relaxing, safe, and enjoyable. Here are a few expectations to help ensure everyone has the best experience possible.

? No Third Party Bookings. (Do not book for someone else, if you will not be traveling with them.)

? Non-Smoking / Non-Vaping. This is a 100% smoke-free property, indoors and outside. You can smoke outside the property gates (by the road and down by the river)

? Water Service & Conservation. We’re connected to the village water system, which is very reliable. Occasionally, there’s a brief interruption to the service for things like pipe repairs, but the village doesn’t run out of water. If the main service is interrupted, we’ve got a backup 300-gallon reservoir and pump to provide water for essential services like showering and flushing. During these times, we’ll ask you to conserve as much water as you can, and please note that the washing machine won’t be available until the main service returns.

? Power & Connectivity. When we lose power, it’s always related to a larger regional or national outage. We’ve got a backup generator, but we’ll hold off on turning it on unless the power is out for more than 8 hours (which has only happened about 3 times in 12 years!). Please keep in mind that when the power goes out, the internet goes out too, and we don’t have a replacement for that. However, cell/data service is still available because the village cell tower has a battery backup.

? No Open Flames. Please do not use candles, incense, or anything else the requires open flames in or around the bungalows.

? Energy Use. Please turn off A/C, lights, ceiling fans, and floor fans whenever you leave the bungalow. Don’t worry if you forget—we will turn things off if we notice they are on.

?? Food Storage. Keep all food and food-related items in the refrigerator to avoid attracting bugs & wild animals.

?? Garbage & Composting. Please do not throw food into any garbage cans. All food is either composted or stored in the freezer for proper disposal. Recycling for plastic, glass, and metal is provided in separate bins.

? Respect Wildlife. Please do not feed, harass, or disturb any animals on the property, including monkeys, toucans, or agoutis.

? Guests & Visitors. Please inform us in advance if you plan to invite extra day guests. All overnight guests must be on the original reservation. Small get-togethers or BBQs are fine—no loud or large parties.

? Please Be Considerate. Quiet Hours: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM, but please be mindful of noise levels during the day to respect neighbors and other guests.

? Child & Teen Supervision. Guests under 18 must accompany a parent or legal guardian whenever adults leave the property. Due to our jungle river setting and insurance requirements, we’re unable to assume responsibility for unattended minors.

? WIFI. Guests may be asked to enter email and phone number to access the free WiFi at this location. Other contact confirmation is optional. In accordance with booking platform policy, we use apps to facilitate our guest experience, and these apps may request contact information before, during, and after your confirmed stay.

? Damages. Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property during their stay.

2. Policies for Your Stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge

Check-in / Check-out

Check-in at our Belize Jungle Bungalows is from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. (If you booked via a third-party, your check-in time is 4pm). If you need an earlier check-in time, please let us know, and we’ll try our best to accommodate you. If you need a later check-in, please confirm before booking.

Please let us know your estimated arrival window so we can plan accordingly.

Check-out is by 11:00 am. If you need a later check-out time, please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate your request.

 Note About Property Care During Your Stay

During your stay, you may see us around caring for the common areas, like the outdoor kitchen, yard, and other shared spaces. Because resource conservation is a priority here in the jungle, there may be occasions when we briefly enter your bungalow — for example, to turn off electrical items left on when guests are away or to address a maintenance concern that requires prompt attention.

Booking Policy

Our published rates are in U.S. dollars, per bungalow (not per person), per night and include tax (9%). No additional fees! We do not charge housekeeping fees, and there are no service fees. The price listed for your reservation dates is the price you pay.

We accept Visa, MC, AmEx, and Discover Credit Cards. All reservations require pre-payment via Credit Card. Once paid, your rate is guaranteed for the duration of your reservation. We do not accept PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Bitcoin, etc.  

Cancellation Policy (Applicable to Direct Bookings Only)

Important: Please be aware that if you booked your stay through an Online Travel Agency (OTA), such as Airbnb, the cancellation policy applicable to your reservation will be the one provided by them. Please refer to your booking confirmation on their platform for details.

The following cancellation policy applies only to reservations made directly through the Lucky Dreamer Lodge website:

Our Cancellation Policy applies to any changes that reduce the number of nights booked, whether it’s for part of the reservation or the entire stay.

We understand that plans can change, and we want to make it as straightforward as possible for our guests.

100% Refund if you Cancel at least 30 Days Before Arrival: If you cancel your reservation more than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, we’ll issue a full refund of any deposit or payments made, less any bank/credit card processing fees and currency exchange charges (approximately 4.5% of any payments made by the date of cancellation).

Cancelling Less Than 30 Days Before Arrival: For cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, the full reservation amount is non-refundable, but there are some options like rebooking your stay. Please see all options below.

Important Exception

• Rebooking Your Stay: If you choose to rebook your original reservation for a future date, please note that the original cancellation window for your initial booking remains in effect. Should you then cancel a rebooked reservation and are beyond the original reservation’s cancellation window (i.e., less than 30 days from your original arrival date), the “Cancelling Less Than 30 Days Before Arrival” policy will apply, and the full reservation amount will be non-refundable.

Cancellation Options within 30 Days (including cancellations of rebooked reservations):

• We encourage guests to rebook their stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge instead of canceling. This allows you to maintain your reservation and potentially reschedule for a more suitable time.
• Submit a claim to your travel insurance policy. We will provide the documentation needed. (We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance!)
• Apply your reservation payment to a later date. Note that if rates change, your original reservation amount will be applied to the new rates (future rates could go up or down). For re-bookings, the 30-day cancellation window applies to the original reservation dates.  
• We will attempt to rent out your booked bungalow. If we are successful, you will receive a refund for the nights we are able to re-book, less the fees mentioned previously. You would not receive a refund for nights that we were not able to re-book. If your bungalow remains empty for all the nights of the original reservation, a refund will not be granted.  

There is no time frame limitation for rebooking a reservation (as long as we have availability).

All cancellation requests for Direct Booked reservations, must be received in writing.

Reminder: If your booking was made via AirBnB, please consult their cancellation policy.

Other Important Details

• Pet Policy: We love animals, and our pets roam freely on the property. However, for the safety and comfort of all guests, we kindly ask that you leave your pets at home.
• Minimum Night Stay: There is s a two-night minimum stay for both the Banana Bungalow & Belize Bungalow
• Belize Jungle Bungalows Housekeeping: Bungalows are thoroughly cleaned before arrival. Extra towels are provided upon request at no charge. For stays longer than a week, we provide complimentary linen and towel changes and basic tidying services.
• Important Disclaimer: Lucky Dreamer Lodge is in the Belizean jungle, which means you may experience heat, humidity, insects, occasional power outages, and sudden weather changes. Wildlife, such as tropical birds and howler monkeys, can be active and vocal. The village may also have ambient noise. We strive to provide a comfortable stay but appreciate your understanding of the natural environment.
• Belize Holidays: Be aware that Belizean holidays are often lively with music and fireworks, which may be louder than usual. Celebrations can extend beyond the official holiday dates.

3. Website Terms of Use

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality, including but not limited to text, images, logos, and designs, are and will remain the exclusive property of Lucky Dreamer Lodge and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of Belize and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Lucky Dreamer Lodge.  

Links To Other Web Sites

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Lucky Dreamer Lodge.  

Lucky Dreamer Lodge has no control over and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Lucky Dreamer Lodge shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such websites or services.

We strongly advise you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services that you visit.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms.  

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers (if applicable), indemnity (if applicable), and limitations of liability (if applicable).  

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Belize, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.  

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service and your stay, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service and your booking.

Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service or stay at Lucky Dreamer Lodge after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service and contact us regarding any existing reservations.
